Crafted from graded boxwood to extremely high production standards, The Oxford Series Staunton chessmen are tall, elegant and double weighted perfect balance. To create the darker pieces, the boxwood undergoes a chemical process to create the look of ebony without the price tag.
These stunning chessmen are hand polished and feature a regal king who sits proudly with his army upon the smooth satin backdrop of the chessboard, created by the world-famous board maker, Rechapados Ferrer of Spain. Using the finest grade of wenge and maple real wood veneers, the board has been crafted to exacting standards of perfection, and the Oxford Chessmen adorn this board with perfect scale and proportion.
Buying this set as a bundle deal provides a significant saving over the cost of purchasing the board and pieces separately and guarantees a perfect match in terms of wood tones and size. If you are looking for an uncompromising chess set of outstanding quality and design, you will find everything you want in this one.
