THE FINER DETAILS

Product details

Clematis 'Eliza' is a compact yet vigorous climbing clematis with large, softly ruffled flowers opening in pale violet-blue before fading to clean white, complemented by distinctive deep blackcurrant-tipped anthers. This repeat-flowering variety produces generous blooms from late spring through early summer, then offers a dependable second flush in late summer and early autumn.Growing to a mature height of 1.2m with a spread of around 1m, it is ideally suited to containers (minimum 45cm pot), patios, and smaller garden spaces. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade, ensuring roots stay cool and moist through mulching or underplanting. This hardy clematis (H6, tolerating -15°C) is deciduous, shedding foliage in autumn before fresh growth emerges in spring.Maintenance is straightforward: water deeply when temperatures exceed 20°C and prune hard in late winter or early spring, cutting stems back to around 15cm above soil level (Pruning Group 3). The upright climbing habit performs beautifully when trained up obelisks or decorative trellises.
