THE FINER DETAILS

Product details

Pulmonaria ‘Opal’ is a refined and elegant spring perennial, valued for its soft, opal-white flowers that emerge from pale pink buds before fading to a cool, luminous white. The delicate clusters sit above attractively mottled green foliage, heavily dusted with silver markings that bring light into shaded planting areas.
This variety is particularly effective in brightening darker corners of the garden, where its subtle flower tones and patterned leaves create a calm, cohesive look. It works beautifully in woodland-style borders, beneath deciduous shrubs, or in shaded patio containers where texture and contrast are key.
Combine with hellebores, ferns, Brunnera, and early spring bulbs such as muscari or narcissus for a layered, naturalistic display. As one of the earlier flowering perennials, it also plays an important role in supporting pollinators emerging in late winter and early spring.
