THE FINER DETAILS

Product details

A compact, clump-forming deciduous grass with elegant, narrow arching leaves featuring distinctive white midribs. This creates a dense, fountainlike clump of silvery-green foliage that is attractive throughout the growing season. In late summer, purple-tinged flower panicles emerge above the foliage, gradually turning silvery-beige and providing wonderful winter interest. This hardy ornamental grass reaches 1-1.5 metres in height with a spread of 0.5-1 metre and is perfectly suited to borders, prairie plantings, cottage gardens and low-maintenance schemes. Miscanthus sinensis 'Gracillimus' is a low-maintenance, pest-free choice for full sun positions in most well-drained soils including chalk, clay, loam and sand. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and requires minimal intervention beyond removing dead foliage and old flowered stems in spring.
