THE FINER DETAILSProduct details
Hydrangea paniculata 'Snow White' is one of the most striking large-flowered panicle hydrangeas available for UK gardens. Dutch-bred and PBR-protected, it is famed for producing the largest flowerheads of any paniculata hybrid — densely packed conical panicles that can reach 40 cm in length and provide a succession of colour from mid-summer to autumn.
As the season opens, emerging flowerheads carry a fresh lime green flush before transitioning to brilliant, glistening white at peak summer. As temperatures cool into early autumn, the blooms gradually take on soft dusky pink tones. The dried flowerheads persist on the plant through winter, adding architectural interest to the bare garden.
'Snow White' is a vigorous shrub. Left unpruned it can reach 2.5 m tall and wide; with annual hard pruning in early spring it can be maintained at a more modest 1.2–1.5 m. Rated RHS H5, it is reliably hardy across most of the UK. Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist, fertile, well-drained soil.
