THE FINER DETAILS

Product details

Hydrangea paniculata 'Red Light' is a vigorous, compact deciduous shrub prized for its stunning flower colour transformation. Large, densely packed cone-shaped panicles emerge in mid to late summer as pale cream and gradually deepen to rich pink and deep rosy-red as the season progresses, providing extended colour from July through the first frosts. The narrowly oval, dark green foliage with finely serrated edges provides an attractive backdrop to the showy blooms. Reaching approximately 1m in height and spread of 1-1.5m, the plant features strong, sturdy upright stems that support the flowers without flopping. It thrives in full sun or partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. This easy-to-grow shrub is hardy to H5, tolerating severe UK winters, and is ideal for borders, mixed shrub plantings, and container displays. It is also attractive to pollinators and makes an excellent choice for cut flower arrangements.
