Product details

This reliable mophead hydrangea produces large, globular flowerheads from June through September. Flowers are blue in acidic soil and pink in alkaline soil, giving you choice over the colour display. Penny Mac reblooms freely on new wood, making it particularly valuable in regions with late frosts where other hydrangeas fail to flower.
The dark green foliage provides good structure through the growing season. Plant in partial shade with shelter from strong afternoon sun, thriving in rich, moist but well-drained soil. Acidic soil below pH 6 produces blue flowers, while alkaline soil above pH 6 shifts blooms to pink tones.
Water deeply and infrequently, feeding with balanced fertiliser in spring and potash-rich formula once buds form. This cultivar is hardy throughout the UK even in hard winters (H5 rating). Prune only after flowering finishes in late summer to preserve next season's flower buds.
