This award-winning English ivy is prized for its outstanding variegated foliage, with pale green young growth edged in bright golden-yellow margins that mature to grey-green with pale yellow edging. An exceptionally versatile evergreen, it can be trained as a climber, wall cover, or cascading houseplant.
Plant in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil with a preference for alkaline conditions, though it adapts well to chalk, clay, loam, and sand. It remarkably tolerates a wide range of light from full sun to full shade. Once established, it requires minimal maintenance; prune in spring to maintain shape and encourage dense growth. Hardy to H5, it survives most UK winters reliably.
Important: highly toxic to pets and children if ingested, and the sap causes skin irritation. Always wear protective gloves when handling or pruning.
