Product details

Hebe pinguifolia 'Sutherlandii', known as Sutherland Hebe, is a compact, rounded hardy evergreen shrub from New Zealand with small grey-green cup-shaped leaves. In early summer, it produces spikes of delicate white flowers that often continue sporadically through the season, even into autumn and winter in milder regions.
This is one of the hardiest hebes, rated H5, making it ideal for exposed locations and coastal gardens where it tolerates salt and pollution well. It's equally at home in urban settings and performs reliably across the UK even in severe winters.
Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. Once established, it's drought-tolerant and requires minimal maintenance—no regular pruning needed. The neat, rounded habit makes it excellent for borders, edging, ground cover and containers. Bees and other pollinators value the flowers, making it a welcoming addition to any garden.
