Dianthus 'Raspberry Sundae' is a compact, hardy perennial forming neat mounds of narrow, evergreen grey-green foliage. Throughout late spring and summer, it produces scented, semi-double, frilled pink flowers with striking burgundy-red eyes. The fragrant blooms bring delicious clove scent to the garden and attract bees, whilst remaining unpalatable to deer and rabbits. This is an ideal plant for cottage gardens, gravel gardens, rock gardens, patio containers and borders. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil with a neutral to alkaline pH (chalk, loam or sand all suit it well). Once established, it is drought tolerant and unfussy, making it easy to grow. Regular deadheading extends the flowering period throughout the season.
