THE FINER DETAILS

Product details

This hardy perennial brings luminous silver foliage to shaded corners where many plants struggle. The distinctive heart-shaped leaves are silver-white with fine green veining and edges, and each leaf tapers to an elongated pointed tip that sets it apart from its better-known cousin 'Jack Frost'. In spring, delicate blue flowers resembling forget-me-nots emerge in airy sprays, hovering above the foliage from April through May. Once the flowers fade, the silvery leaves continue to brighten dark spaces for the rest of the season.Plant in partial to full shade in moist, humus-rich soil that drains well. It thrives in the cool conditions many shade plants prefer, and spreads slowly to form an attractive ground cover. Virtually pest and disease-free, it needs little beyond removing dead flower stems after blooming to keep it tidy. Excellent for borders, woodland edges and beneath established trees.
