Berkeley Chess Medieval Russet Chessmen

Beautifully handcrafted in the UK. Stunning attention to detail. Impressive 4.75-inch king. Solid crushed stone resin pieces. Intricately detailed medieval designs. Inspired by the various historic chess pieces of the medieval era unearthed over the years, these exquisitely detailed resin chessmen will make a truly special gift for any history or chess lover. Although chess originates in the East, perhaps the most well-known historical chess set is the Isle of Lewis Chessmen. These whalebone pieces originated in medieval Norway and were discovered in Scotland in the early 19th century. There are, however, many different medieval chess pieces on display in museums all around the world. The master sculptors at Berkeley Chess have commemorated some of the lesser-known medieval chess pieces with these stunning crushed stone resin chessmen, which feature designs based on a 14th-century German set. These exquisite carved resin pieces are finished with a stunning, rich russet and cream colouring, and are sure to look magnificent displayed in any home.
