THE FINER DETAILS

Product details

Aruncus 'Fairy Hair' is a compact dwarf perennial producing creamy white flower plumes that darken with age, appearing in early to midsummer above distinctive needle-like, finely dissected green foliage. This hybrid cultivar, introduced by Walters Gardens, reaches just 20-24 inches tall and wide, making it ideal for tucking into shade gardens and containers where larger varieties won't fit.More drought tolerant than similar Astilbe varieties, it prefers moist, humus-rich soil and adapts well to shade, partial shade, or full sun (though deep shade reduces flowering). Once established, it becomes hardier and requires less frequent watering. The plant is deer resistant and attracts bees and beneficial insects, making it an excellent choice for pollinator gardens. Cut back untidy growth in summer if desired, or allow the foliage to persist into autumn.
