Actaea 'Queen of Sheba' (Pot Size 3L) Bugbane

Actaea 'Queen of Sheba' is a striking perennial bugbane with deep bronze-purple foliage that forms a bold focal point in the shade garden. In late summer and autumn, tall dark stems bear pendant white flowers with a sweet fragrance, resembling delicate bottle brushes that arch like shepherd's crooks. The display is followed by glossy black berries that extend the seasonal interest into winter. This hybrid combines the vigour of both American and Asian Actaea species in a cultivar of exceptional garden merit. Plant in partial shade in cool, moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter, ideally in woodland gardens or lightly shaded borders where the dark foliage and white flowers create maximum contrast. The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees and beneficial insects. Allow 2-5 years for the plant to establish and reach full stature. Note: all parts are toxic if ingested; wear gloves when handling.
